Before coming to conclusions based on your fingernails, consider the health events you have recently experienced. You probably took some serious medication before moving, antimalaria drugs perhaps? Your fingernails provide a record of health events but you know that you were really sick recently, so that’s probably the cause. A dark red/brown band across the top of the fingernail is correlated with kidney failure, internal illness or nutritional deficit.
I had pneumonia a couple of years ago and found it fascinating that it caused deep valleys at the bottom of my nails.
