Most massage therapists start their own businesses. Jobs are really low paying for the most part so you can’t really make a good living. You have to know about running a business but you can learn as you go. Massage school only teaches you how to do massage not be a massage therapist really. There is much more too it than just massaging because touch has a way of bringing up many psychological issues.

Your question is going to get a lot of bad answers - simply put. Massage therapy is generally considered a luxury. For some it’s almost consistent with prostitution … those are just the facts.
if you have honest and professional clientele, you could do well and probably have to work considerably hard. If you want dishonest and unscrupulous clientele, then you could probably do well and probably not have to work so considerably hard … or at least not in the same way.
if you are interested in the easy street - I don’t think this is an easy profession to crack. It takes a lot of networking to build up relationships.
